An Invitation Towards a Discursive Epistemic Adventure
What is the difference between good philosophy and chronic neuroticism? τὀ ταξίδι προς τὴν κατανόηση
Hello World, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Thomas Doane, and I am currently a Theological Studies major at Wayland Baptist University in San Antonio, Texas with a keen bent towards Christian apologetics, Philosophy, History, Linguistics, and Theoretical Math and Physics. I have been blessed and privileged with an analytical mind, I would dare to say skeptical, which has led me through the gambit of worldviews, from secular humanism to militant atheism and finally affirming Christianity through a process of truth-seeking and grappling with metaphysical angst. I am excited to partake in inaugurating this digital dialogue with my friend a colleague, Kyle Richey as a continuation of our debates and long discourses in truth-seeking.
Kyle and I come from diametrically different backgrounds, which has provided much in the way of subject matter and fiercely debated viewpoints. In Kyle, I have found a true friend and colleague that is open to debate that is open to challenge all viewpoints, from prima facie topics to comic non-sequiturs. In the intervening time, We both have been able to challenge each other’s beliefs and grow spiritually and philosophically. While I have there not been highly active online through blogging or social media, other than a flame war here or there, I look forward to inviting those who would like to join us in our journey to grow in faith and knowledge and to challenge our preconceptions.
What you are going to experience with Philosophosaurus Rex is the continuation of many long evenings at coffee shops, riffing over Philosophy, Theology, History, and life’s travails. You, as the reader, will be to be privy to our Journey through our journey into the world of philosophy as we both journey through a systematic study of philosophy. We decided after much deliberation to share the many long discourses as we both seek the truth together, so pour a cup of strong coffee and join us in the journey.
